Bru‧ton, John /ˈbruːtn/
(1947–) an Irish politician, leader of the Fine Gael Party and Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland from 1994 to 1997. In 1995 Mr Bruton and the British Prime Minister, John Major, began the process that led to peace talks in Northern Ireland.
